Mary and her friend Corey learn they have been named co-recipients of the Senior Class Oustanding Athletic Award. However, their celebration is short-lived when a local business owners learn that Corey has a baby. To everybody's surprise, when Mary is presented with her award in front of the whole school, she voluntarily gives it up to Corey. Eric and Annie, meanwhile, are concerned when they find a bag of marijuana in Simon's friend's backpack. When they conftont the boy's parents, who at first deny there is any kind of a problem. But later, after the police intervene, the boy's father agrees to look for a job and to get some professional help. Meanwhile, the other kids face problems at school when Matt breaks the honor code during an exam and Lucy refuses a plea to break into the school's computer system.
