Lucy overhears and yells that she knows that and says it's all her fault because they were picking her up. Everybody tries to comfort her, but she breaks away from their embraces and slumps to the floor. The entire family can only watch-knowing that Lucy has to work this out on her own.
Matt finds his mom in the attic trying to spruce up the place. She says she can put in a bathroom if he wants. Matt reminds her that he is going to college-hopefully away from home. She goes to get some tape to fix a chair and finds Eric in the kitchen who calls Wilson. Later, Wilson arrives to see Lucy and Mary answers the door. He tells her he needs to talk to Lucy about something and she asks why Wilson can't just talk to hear about whatever he needs to talk about. Wilson tells Mary that she isn't a member of the club. When Mary tells Lucy that, Lucy goes downstairs to talk to Wilson. The two later go to a meeting with other people who have lost friends or family close to them. Lucy begins to open up and allows Wilson to comfort her.
That night, Lucy makes up with Matt and gives her parents a big hug letting them know that the healing process has started.
