Original Airdate: 05/05/97

Ruthie is watching cartoons in the living room with her imaginary friend, Huey, when Annie gets a phone call from an old friend Rachel from High School. The two rapidly catch up on what has happened over the years and Rachel says she has moved into the same neighborhood as Annie. Simon comes in and changes the channel of the TV which causes Ruthie to complain to Annie who simply tells Ruthie she is on the phone. When Simon casually sits on the couch, Ruthie screams bloody murder saying Simon just squished her imaginary friend.

That night, Annie gets all dressed up to go out on the town with Rachel. Eric questions Simon about squishing Huey and Simon tells his dad not to start. Rachel finally arrives and is greeted at the door by Matt and is immediately taken by Matt's good looks. Annie introduces Rachel to everybody and then the two take off.

Feeling very guilty about squishing Huey, Simon tries everything to try and convince Ruthie that Huey is back. Ruthie, however, doesn't buy into it and Simon tries to think of something to solve the problem at hand. As Simon is thinking about what to do with Ruthie, Lucy's best friend Suzanne comes over and tells Lucy that her dad is getting her mom a job. Overhearing the conversation, Eric asks when Suzanne will be moving but both Suzanne and Lucy know nothing about the move. Eric says he must be wrong about the whole thing.

Rachel and Annie arrive back home when Matt is preparing to take Suzanne back home. Rachel says she is exhausted and asks if Matt can take her home as well. At Rachel's place, she makes a pass at Matt but Matt backs away because she is his mom's best friend. Rachel makes Matt promise to go out with her tomorrow to see a band perform.

Rachel tells Annie and Eric that she and Matt are going to go hear a band and Mary asks if she can go as well. Before Rachel can say no, Matt says that it is a great idea, and Eric and Annie say that since she is with Rachel then it will be all right. At the club, a friend of Rachel's whisks Mary away and convinces her to sing on stage with the band - leaving Rachel and Matt alone to dance. From the stage, she notices how close the two are dancing and later interrogates Matt about what happened. Sitting in the dark, Eric overhears but promises to let Matt handle the situation his own way.

When Rachel comes over to do laundry the next day, Rachel apologizes for going on a date with Matt but she tells Annie that Matt was the one who made a pass at her. Angry at Matt, Annie asks him how he could do something like this. Matt covers for Rachel and tells his mom it will never happen again.

After attempts at finding or capturing Huey fails, Eric holds a special going away party for the imaginary friend. Present are all of the Camdens, as well as Suzanne and Rachel. During his speech, Eric makes several references to friendships which causes Rachel to feel guilty about deceiving Annie. In the middle of Eric's speech, Ruthie jumps up and announces that Huey is back, getting a sigh of relief from Simon.

Rachel tells Annie everything, and how she is the one who made the pass at Matt. Annie is shocked and blows up at Rachel about lying to her and hitting on her son - not to mention making Matt look bad. She tells Rachel that she should straighten out her life and maybe she will find the right man, instead of finding the right man to straighten out her life.
